Heel Pain

If you have plantar fasciitis and suffer from heel pain do you ever notice....

  • Sharp heel pain with the first couple of steps in the morning?

  • Dull heel pain that lasts throughout the day?

  • Repetitive sharp pains that occur later in the day when you stand up after sitting?

These painful episodes may be due to a heel spur or plantar fasciitis.

The most common cause of heel pain is a stretching or bruising of a band of elastic type tissue called the Plantar Fascia. As we get older the elastic type tissue becomes more rope like and since it stretches less it is more likely to tear. Also consider the fact that on any given day the average person takes 8,000 steps. To make matters worse, most people who suffer from heel pain have arches that have fallen and or heel spurs.

Orthotics help to support the foot in a more youthful position and many people report prompt relief from the conditions I have described above..
